17th Annual Tourism Awards & Scholarship

We are delighted to share that our very own, Mark Dana, was presented with the Herb & Franklin Traub Visionary Award at the 17 Annual Tourism Awards & Scholarship dinner hosted by the Tourism Leadership Council.

The Herb and Franklin Traub Visionary Award honors the former and late owner of The Pirates’ House, Herb Traub, and his late wife, Franklin, who both were actively involved in the hospitality industry for many years. Herb’s attitude of “better and more” resulted in illuminated monuments throughout Savannah’s squares, fountains in Daffin Park, and the restoration of the Lucas Theatre. The Visionary Award is given to someone who consistently works to promote the growth of tourism in Savannah, recognizes and nurtures the potential of new projects for Savannah, and is instrumental in creating awareness for our community.
